Biography of Jimmy Page
James Patrick Page, known as Jimmy Page, was born on January 9, 1944, in Heston, Middlesex, United Kingdom. He is an English musician, arranger, and outstanding rock guitarist who played a pivotal role in the formation of the band 'Led Zeppelin'.
Early Career
In the mid-1960s, Page gained recognition as a talented guitarist. He worked as a session musician, contributing to recordings by various groups, including "The Who" and "The Rolling Stones". Initially, he rejected an offer to become the rhythm and blues band "The Yardbirds" guitarist but later changed his mind and played with them until their disbandment in 1968.
Led Zeppelin
After the breakup of "The Yardbirds," Jimmy Page formed his new band, which would later be named "Led Zeppelin". He invited bassist John Paul Jones and vocalist Robert Plant to join him. Drummer John "Bonzo" Bonham later completed the lineup. From 1968 onwards, "Led Zeppelin" embarked on a journey to international fame. Over the course of twelve years, until the official disbandment after the death of John Bonham, "Led Zeppelin" performed concerts in England, the United States, and Europe. They released nine albums, most of which achieved "platinum" status.
Solo Career
Following the breakup of "Led Zeppelin," Jimmy Page, like the other members of the band, pursued a solo career. In 1982, he contributed to the soundtrack of the film "Death Wish II". In the mid-1980s, he formed the hard rock quartet "The Firm". In 1982, in memory of John Bonham, Page compiled the album "Coda," which included early compositions by "Led Zeppelin". In 1988, he released his debut solo album, "Outrider".
Later Collaborations
In 1993, Jimmy Page collaborated with former "Whitesnake" vocalist David Coverdale on the album "Coverdale/Page". In 1994, he participated in the television show "MTV Unplugged" with Robert Plant and released the album "No Quarter," which featured songs from "Led Zeppelin".
