The “Who Was/Is” series is a set of biographies about important people living or deceased aimed at kids. The series has two spinoffs, the “What Was” series and “Where Was” series. It began publication in the year 2002.

Books in the series were written by various writers like Pam Pollack, Douglas Yacka, James Buckley, Jr., Dennis Brindell Fradin, and Patricia Brennan Demuth.
