Degree Requirements for M.A. in Theology

The M.A. in Theology degree requires completion of 36 credit hours at a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Domestic Student Admission Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA
  • Interview with Director after file is complete

International Student Admission Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA
  • Interview with Director after file is complete
  • Proof of English proficiency from one of the following:*
    • TOEFL (79 or higher)
    • IELTS (6.5 or higher)
    • PTE (53 or higher)
    • Completion of ELS 112

How to enter the program:

Current University of St. Thomas Theology student’s must meet with Master of Arts in Theology program director during their junior year to make sure all pre-requisites have been completed to enter the graduate portion of the degree. Once all requirements are met, Theology undergraduate students need to complete the UST Graduate Application.

Requirements:

  • Current University of St. Thomas Theology undergraduate student
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Interview with program chair
  • Completed graduate application
