Early Life

Hasan Minhaj was born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India to Muslim parents. His mother, Najme Minhaj, returned to India after his birth, leaving Hassan in California with his father, a research organic chemist. Eight years later, Najme returned after completing her medical studies in India. She did not join the family in the U.S. until three years later, in , when she gave birth to a daughter.
