Zia quiznos enrique gil and liza
As Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano pursue separate careers, the actor has expressed his hope to collaborate with his former on-screen partner again—especially now that both have ventured into film production.
Potential Horror Film Collaboration
During the media conference for his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry, Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital, Gil revealed that he and Soberano have discussed the possibility of working on a horror film.
“She is really focused on her US career. She has a lot of auditions and events there. We were talking the other day, and she said she is really interested in my other project, the horror,” Gil said.
“When she comes back, we will talk about the storyboard. She also has a production company there. Eventually, mag-collab kami (we will collaborate).”
Gil has been making strides in production, with Strange Frequencies marking his second co-produced film after his comeback comedy, I Am Not Big Bird. Meanwhile, Soberano recently launched her production studio and has seven projects in development.
Rumors and Future Plans
The pair has yet to address persistent rumors about their separation, but both remain supportive of each other’s career paths.
Gil is also gearing up for a new television series, which will pair him with a yet-to-be-announced leading actress.
“The one I’m doing next is a TV series. I will be back. It is super fun. I have always wanted to do a concept like this. Light lang. May romance, may action,” he shared.
Reflections on Burnout and Priorities
Reflecting on his career, Gil opened up about experiencing burnout and his decision to shift focus to family and production work.
“In a way, [naubos rin ako] (I got burned out). I realized that family and loved ones are more important. At the end of the day, the fame and money don’t mean anything.”
The 32-year-old actor plans to transition behind the scenes over time.
“I don’t plan on being an actor for a long time. Eventually, I want to have a family and more time with them. Sana pag nagtuloy-tuloy na ‘yung pagpoproduce, behind the scenes na lang [ako] (If my production career continues, I’ll stay behind the scenes).”
With both Gil and Soberano exploring new creative paths, fans eagerly anticipate the possibility of their reunion on a shared project.
