Thank you for visiting my Author's Page. I have written sixteen books, and numerous articles for national and regional publications. Most of my work has been on literary subjects. I am particularly interested in 18th and 19th century English Literature; a passion that has remained with me since my schooldays. I am married and live in rural Dumfriesshire, having moved here from my native Essex in 1987.

My latest book, Charles Lamb: Man and Brother First, published by The Book Guild, on 28th November 2024, is a biography of the early-nineteenth century poet, essayist and critic. Friend of Coleridge, Wordsworth and Southy, Charles Lamb is most fondly remembered today for Tales from Shakespeare, written with his sister, Mary, for his poem ‘The Thank you for visiting my Author's Page. February 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of his birth. In recognition of this anniversary The Oxford University Press are republishing his complete works.
